Prof. Dr. Jasmina Markič

Jasmina Markič, PhD, Professor of Spanish Language at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her teaching and research work and interests are aspects of Spanish syntax (mainly the verb and its aspectual, temporal values and modality), American Spanish, contrastive studies of Spanish, Portuguese and Slovene, theoretical and practical problems of conference and court interpreting and problems of translation from Spanish into Slovene and Slovene into Spanish. She is author, co-author and editor of  several articles and books dealing with these subjects, of bilingual dictionaries Spanish-Slovene and Slovene-Spanish, a five-language glossary of conference interpreting terminology and Spanish and Portuguese grammars for Slovene learners. She has been teaching as a visiting professor at the Spanish Universities UAM Madrid, La Laguna - Tenerife and Granada, the University Nova de Lisboa (Portugal), the Universities of Belgrade and Kragujevac (Serbia), the University of Zagreb (Croacia), the University of Trieste (Italy). She is also an active conference interpreter, court interpreter and translator for Spanish, Portuguese and Slovene.
